The Struggle is Real!

Bullying, diseases, drugs, alcohol, abuse, money, work, family, love, relationships, emotions, greed, worry, jealousy, the past, the future, the present, procrastination, addiction, failing, safety, grades, school, motivation, anxiety, low self-esteem, people, teasing, taunting, control, controlling oneself, caring too much, weight loss, weight gain…

We all have our own struggles. It feels like they consume our every though, zap all of our energy, and in the moments when we are battling these things, it feels as though they will defeat us.

We feel very isolated during these times. Like we are the only person going through things and nobody else will ever understand what we are dealing with.

Sometimes we get lost in the struggle. We even begin to find our identity in the very things we are struggling against.

But it doesn’t have to be!

You can defeat the circumstance that is trying to drown you.

I remember a time when my four year old daughter was trying to take her pants off… She really hates clothes… But the pants got stuck around her ankles. She was kicking as hard as she could to get the pants off. And at some point during the struggle the pants came off, but she was crying to hard and kicking to wild to realize that the very thing she was struggling with was gone.

Sometimes all we need in the midst of our struggles is to stop and realize we can beat it! Stop crying. Stop kicking. Stop identifying with it.

You are more than your struggle!

2 Corinthians 4:8-9  “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”

You can defeat anything! Keep pressing on!
